I am learning the definition of exhausted! my drier has been running literally around the clock trying to get these nappies washed and ready to go for the 29th!
What a job! I’m NOT looking forward to my electricity bill!
Thanks so much to Kate, Mandy, Sue, Sherry and ALL our lovely interstate volunteers for doing so much washing for me. You’re all brilliant people!
Check the progress table for updates - but basically - we did well today! There were a heap of prefolds and PUL covers from Real Nappies NZ - so many I didn’t have time to count them all! Plus HUGE packages from Greenkids pocket nappies, including heaps of fleece to cut up which is brilliant as we were short on liners.
Thanks everyone - you’re too numerous to list you all but you know who you are!

These two bags are just the all in ones and fitteds - there’s a whole heap more boxes and bags of covers, flats, liners, boosters - everything!

This is what Nicole found in a conservative cull of her own nappy collection. Who knew how quickly the pile would grow!

This is half the collection of Pea Pods pocket nappies with the other all in ones that have been donated brand new.

These great hemp inserts were sent as spare inserts for the Pea Pods. 120 were donated by the company!
I collected this week’s donations to the PO Box today. It was a day for nice neat numbers!
Thanks to Pea Pods for their 100 nappies and 120 spare boosters!
We received 150 nappies today, 40 pvc covers, 7 GREAT longies/shorties, 128 boosters, 4 snappis and 11 pins.
The pile of packages today was about 80cm wide and was as high as my chest - no exaggeration!
Great work people!
Just a short entry to tell everyone that our Snappis arrived today - all 144. Thanks Happy Baby!
The pea pods were due to arrive at the church office today as well. All in all, a good day!
I’m seriously excited! I got to catch up with my friend from Russia today who is fantastically going to be available to attend our Brisbane 29/11 sewathon and is going to show a dvd on the plight of Russian kids for all who attend. This is great news.
Great news too is that we received a donation in our po box yesterday, and again with some nappies sent that I collected today. Thanks to those donors, you know who you are. (by the way, if you sent me a cheque - I haven’t got your contact name/details to thank you - but I would if I could!)
Big donations rolled in today, of particular note is a lovely donation of some all in one Magicalls and PUL covers from Baby Beehinds. They’re great!
Best news yet though, is that we have just received a GREAT pledged donation of 100 Pea Pods pocket nappies from the makers of Pea Pods, as well as the inserts to fit inside the second hand ones donated to date that were insert-less.
BRILLIANT!
