I had no idea that this was the situation in Russia. I’m glad you’ve brought it to our attention. I have some knitting patterns for pilchers if anyone wants a copy.

Saw your post on EB. I am not an MCN user but do have about a dozen squares that have only ever been used to clean up etc.
I live very southside of brissy (logan area) so if u have someone who I can drop them of to let me know.
I would also like to offer assistance if i can, although i have 2 kids at home so it would be limited to things i can do from home…
What a worthy cause.

I have a few MCN’s and flats also a heap of covers that I can donate. I live near Wagga Wagga, NSW so I am happy to send them to any collection point. This is such a wonderful cause, I am so happy to be able to help.

I have emailed this to every parent I know and a few others! Have already had donations pledged in last 10 mins
Will be getting a parcel together and arrange to drop off to a local as listed on EB. Great work, I think this will turn out to be much much GREATER than you can imagine!

Another EBer here! What a great idea! I have posted links to this on 2 sites I manage hope that’s ok? I will see what I can find to put in the post! Have you thought of including information on elimination control? Just another option!
Wishing you every success with your endeavour!

Hi, I am putting a parcel in the post today. They are mostly funky mates that I bought on ebay. They are used but in good condition. Also a variety of covers, fluffies etc most of these werent used as I just used BB covers. Snibs are there too and these are all unused in the packet. Also I found 5 snappi nappies, 2 of them are still in the packet so these may be worth auctioning off if put into a bundle, the other snappis are new but without packets. I think you are doing a wonderful job and I am glad to be doing something with nappies that don’t fit Amelie anymore. Plus I am only using beehinds now(I am a VIC demonstrator) Cheers

This sounds like a lovely idea smile Just wondering if you have considered the washing practices over there - are they able to get a MCNs properly cleaned and dried? MCNs are pretty hard to care for compared to flats (and they’re not that useful when the elastic has died). I’m just wondering if MCNs are really a good idea to send over.
Good luck with it

Hi,
I was pleased to find your web site.
I am actively involved in working in Children’s Hospitals in Russia.
Disposable Nappies are widely available in Russia…..but as you mention are quite expensive from the average family budget.I know that hospitals prefer to use disposable and the washing of terry nappies would prove to be a nightmare.
Instead of all the hard work of collecting nappies and shipping them…why do you not collect donations and buy in Russia (at cheaper Russian price)…just a thought.
Good Luck
Greatest Regards

Hi there!!! I am SOOO pleased you are doing this!! What a blessing it will be to these women and babies!! I’ll be posting a parcel to you shortly, i have some new cloth nappies, i think about 2 dozen that i have put away fro when i have a baby.. about 12 months till we will begin trying!! so i think that they will be better put to use straight away with these russian babies. I’ll get some covers as well and hopefully post by the end of the week. God Bless!! P.s. if i can help in any way (I live on the sunshine coast) please email me

Good job Nicole. I have 3 over flowing bags here waiting to get to you with more coming big grin
I wanted to ask - I would, as I am sure others would, love to see pics of the mums and bubs with the parcels. After feeling so sad for these poor babies I would love to see their happy faces eventually.

Terri (Illawarra collector) came and picked up the nappies today. 2 peole from my playgroup donated terry flats to add to mine! I’ll send a cheque separately. The sewing day sounds great…I’m just getting into sewing pocket nappies myself. Cheers, Kath.

Hi Nicole, I am your Melb rep!
I am not sure how you are going with freight issues in getting all this interstate stock to Brisbane, but I was chatting to my mum and she suggested you try McCaffertys/Greyhound bus freight as she has had great success with them in the past. They seem to be quite community minded and just may be able to help you out. http://www.busfreight.com.au:80/ Anyway if you have already considered this or have worked out an alternative, that is great, but I thought it was worth a mention. Cheers! Alison
PS I have another large amount of stuff being dropped off tomorrow so will update you soon!
